B.1) Agronomical blueprints for IES
In this topic, researchers will digest the state of the art in the scientific-technical topics related with determining irrigation requirements and simulation of crops and soil water to provide the detailed description of how IES will produce personalized irrigation schedules and how IES will simulate the effect of those schedules on a given scenario.
B.2) Irrigation & crop expert system implementation
The General Objective of this action is to integrate a powerful recommendation, training and consulting software tool for transforming the IES platform in a virtual expertise, especially for deciding among alternative options in planning and managing irrigation. These simulations will provide a platform for training and conducting early rapid prototyping of use cases and scenarios.
B.3) Agronomic training soft implementation
The objective of this action is building an online tool that enables simulations from users in an intuitive, simple and fast way. The purpose is to take advantage of the Internet dissemination potential in conjunction with the latest advances in web technologies, to create a consistent training environment. The tool will be presented to the user as a web portal accessible from any browser by applying access control policy and secure data transport.
B.4) Agronomical data feed
This Action will consist of collecting, revising and loading data into the agronomical knowledge base that will support the functionalities of the IES tool. The data will be adapted to the formalization of the agronomical database implemented for this project.
B.5) Pilot demonstration
This action will provide real data about the performance of the IES, including the usage of IES, the quality of its irrigation recommendations, the veracity of the Virtual Crop and the actual impact of IES on improving water use efficiency by farmers.
C.1) Monitoring of the impact of the project action
This action is intended to quantify the impact of project activities on the environmental problem of water waste.
1.) A series of specific, objectively and verifiable indicators to measure the impact are defined.
2.) Includes a series of activities to meet the initial situation and indicators, and assessments that are conducted regularly.
3.) It is also fixed series of dates, related with project milestones, for verification of the indicators.
D.1) Communication & dissemination
The main objective of this action is to assure the dissemination of the results of the project amongst the region of interest, Spain and the European community. The partners and associated contributors have strong connectivity to target audiences at local, regional, national and European level.
The progress and outcomes of the project will be disseminated through the partner organizations in a variety of ways to ensure maximum coverage and sharing of information, expertise and experience.
E.1) Project management
The main objective of this action is to ensure the adequate co-ordinating organization of the project, necessary to assure and/or establish:
1.) Communication flow and reporting to the EC;
2.) Project progress monitoring and planning;
3.) Decision making procedures;
4.) Networking and interaction with third parties (other projects, stakeholders, institutions…).
E.2) After-life communication plan
Once the project ends, it is important to ensure the result’s dissemination and communication have an impact on the public target. So as a separate report of the final report will be made a communication plan post-project, in Spanish and English, which will include dissemination activities to do once the project finalizes. Some of these actions will include: attendance at events, transfer of results to other regions at the regional, national and European level, publications, etc.
